Name the marked capital
A dot lights up on the map: which capital is it? Type it or pick from four.

Recognize a capital from its marker on the map
In this game, a point lights up on the map, and you have to say which capital it is. The question comes in two forms: type the name of the capital for 10 points, or pick it from four options for 5 points. The marker points to a capital and not to a country, which means you have to locate the city itself.
The game helps you remember where each capital is, since typing the name requires recalling it without help. A help highlights the country concerned on the map. Names are accepted in the site's four languages, regardless of accents or capital letters, and a small typo is tolerated when you confirm with the Enter key. It suits students revising and curious people.

- Use the help if needed to see the country highlighted, then continue the round to the end.
Frequently asked questions
- Should I type the answer or choose it?
- Both modes exist: typing the capital earns 10 points, and choosing it from four options earns 5 points. Names are accepted regardless of accents or capital letters.
- A country has two capitals: which ones are accepted?
- All the capitals of a country are accepted. Israel accepts Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, and the Netherlands accept Amsterdam and The Hague, so a correct answer is not wrongly marked as incorrect.
- Do I need an account to play?
- No. The game is free, with no account needed, like the other geography games. Scores are saved in the browser, and no sign-up is required to start a round.
- What is the help button for?
- The help button highlights the country concerned on the map. The question then still has to be answered, by typing the name or choosing an option.
