Fifteen steps, guaranteed milestones and two lifelines

Ascension is a tiered general knowledge quiz: fifteen steps of rising difficulty, three per level, from very easy to expert. Winnings climb from 100 to 50,000 points, and each step climbed increases what is at stake. At each step, you can stop to cash in your winnings or keep going. The game is free and played without an account.

The milestones guaranteed at steps 5 and 10 are kept even after a wrong answer, and two lifelines, the 50/50 and the question swap, are available during the round. The server checks the answers and calculates the winnings, which makes the ranking reliable. The game is aimed at students who want to practise, curious people and anyone revising general knowledge through progressive challenges.

How to play

  1. Start a round: the first step is very easy, and each following step is harder.
  2. Answer each question; winnings rise from 100 to 50,000 points, and steps 5 and 10 set guaranteed milestones.
  3. Cash in your winnings by stopping ("cash out"), or keep going at the risk of falling back to the last milestone.
  4. Use the two lifelines if needed: the 50/50, which removes two wrong answers, or the question swap.
