Classroom quiz: a free live question game

Last updated: October 13, 2026

With Mnemoz, a teacher can start a live quiz for the whole class in minutes: students join with a 6-digit code from their phone, tablet or computer, with no account to create.

Start a game in 5 minutes

  • Create a free account on the sign-up page (one account for the teacher).
  • Pick one of hundreds of quizzes sorted by theme and difficulty, or build your own.
  • Click “Start a live game”: a 6-digit PIN code appears.
  • Students open the Join a game page and enter the code and a nickname.
  • Start the game: each question appears on their screens, with the correction and a live leaderboard.

What you can set up

  • Confirm an answer before it counts: students can change their mind until they press “Confirm”.
  • Move on automatically once everyone has answered, or stay in control with the “Next” button to discuss a correction.
  • An explanation appears after each answer, so the quiz is a revision tool as well as a game.

Why it works well in class

  • Students do not need an account: a nickname is enough and no email address is asked from guest players.
  • Nothing to install: it runs in the browser, on any device.
  • Four languages (French, English, Italian, Spanish): handy in language classes.
  • Quizzes on history, geography, science, sport, general knowledge and many other themes.

Ideas for using it

  • A quick review before a test or at the end of a chapter.
  • A 5-minute warm-up quiz to reactivate what students know.
  • Language lessons: a quiz in English, Italian or Spanish to test vocabulary and culture.
  • End-of-term sessions, clubs, trips or after-school activities.

Frequently asked questions

Is it an alternative to Kahoot?

The idea of a live quiz with a PIN code is the same as in services such as Kahoot, with some differences: Mnemoz is free, its quizzes are ready-made in four languages and players do not need an account. Mnemoz is an independent service, unrelated to those services. See also the free live quiz page.

How many students can play at once?

A game accepts up to 200 participants.

Can students keep practising on their own afterwards?

Yes: every quiz can be played solo, and the Endless and Ascent modes let them keep practising.
