1. Data controller

The data controller is Lorenzo Geano, a sole trader (entrepreneur individuel) and publisher of the Mnemoz site (https://mnemoz.com). Contact: calculateurfinance@proton.me.

2. Data collected

You can play most quizzes without an account. The data below is processed only in the cases indicated.

2.1 If you create an account

• username and password (the password is never stored in plain text: only an encrypted hash is stored);
• email address, optional;
• profile picture (image address), optional;
• account creation date and role on the site.

2.2 Your activity on the site

• quiz results, answers given, missed questions (review mode), daily challenge, streaks and unlocked achievements;
• Elo rating, weekly league and duel history;
• friends list, friend requests and challenges sent;
• ratings given to quizzes, question reports and quizzes you have created;
• online presence (last activity), visible to your friends.

2.3 Notifications (optional)

If you enable notifications, your browser's technical identifier for receiving notifications is stored. You can disable them at any time.

2.4 Technical data

• IP address and connection data, processed by our hosting providers and used to limit abuse (for example the number of requests per minute);
• for the online player counter, a random identifier specific to the tab, kept for a few seconds in the server's memory and never linked to a person;
• browsing and device data, only if you accept audience measurement or advertising cookies (see below).

2.5 Audience measurement and advertising (with your consent)

With your consent, Mnemoz uses Google Analytics, via Google Tag Manager, to measure traffic (page views, duration, device type). Mnemoz may also display advertising, for example through Google AdSense, which may use cookies and advertising identifiers to show ads suited to your interests and measure their performance. Without your consent, no audience measurement or advertising cookie is set. You can change your mind at any time with “Manage cookies” at the bottom of the page.

If you write to us, we process your email address and your message in order to reply to you.

2.7 Cookie-free visit counting (Ahrefs Web Analytics)

The site counts its visits with Ahrefs Web Analytics. According to Ahrefs, this tool uses no cookies, does not store IP addresses with measurement data and does not track visitors from one day to the next. For each page it records the page address, the referring page, browser and system, country and city (derived from the IP address, which is not kept), language, screen size and a pseudonymous daily visitor ID renewed every 24 hours. Legal basis: legitimate interest (knowing how the site is used). You can object by blocking the analytics.ahrefs.com script or by writing to calculateurfinance@proton.me.

3. Purposes and legal bases

• providing the service (account, games, rankings, duels, friends): performance of the requested service;
• ensuring the security of the site and preventing abuse: legitimate interest;
• moderating content and handling reports: legitimate interest;
• measuring audience to improve the site: your consent;
• displaying advertising and measuring its performance: your consent for advertising cookies and identifiers;
• sending notifications: your consent;
• responding to your requests: legitimate interest and performance of pre-contractual measures.

4. Recipients of the data

Your data is never sold. It is accessible to the publisher and to the technical providers that operate the site:

• Cloudflare, Inc.: delivery of the site's pages;
• Render Services, Inc.: application server;
• Clever Cloud SAS: database hosting, in France;
• Google LLC: audience measurement (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager) and advertising (for example Google AdSense), only with your consent; Google may rely on its own advertising partners.

Some of these providers are established in the United States. Transfers outside the European Union are covered by the safeguards provided by these providers (standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework).

Quiz generation by artificial intelligence, restricted to moderators, sends the requested topic to the Google Gemini service; no player data is transmitted to it.

5. Retention period

• account and activity data: until the account is deleted, which you can request at any time by email;
• audience measurement data: 14 months at most;
• advertising cookies and identifiers: period set by the provider, in the order of 13 months;
• messages sent to the publisher: 2 years after the last exchange;
• IP addresses in hosting providers' logs: period set by these providers, in the order of a few weeks.

6. Your rights

You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability regarding your data, as well as the right to withdraw your consent at any time and to set directives on what happens to your data after your death.

To exercise them, write to calculateurfinance@proton.me. We reply within one month. If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL).

7. Security

Communications with the site are encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored as encrypted hashes, access to administration tools is restricted, and submitted content is checked before publication. As no system is infallible, we recommend using a unique, strong password.

8. Minors

The site is intended for all audiences. Under the age of 15, creating an account requires the consent of a parent or the holder of parental authority. Do not include personal information in usernames or in the content you publish.

9. Changes

This policy may change, for example if a feature is added. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page.
